HKUMed Dean of Admissions talking about interview formats

Our experience with Group discussion interview format (HKU)

  • It was a panel interview. 2 interviewers sitting opposite the table, asked us why we’d like to study Medicine. On the table there was a folder containing a pre-printed documents about the candidate’s CV including past achievements and certificates etc.

So be sure to know yourself well! Especially those documents which you submitted to the University.

    Reference to CUHK’s website:

Students are interviewed individually by two panel members.

The interview will be conducted in English and last for about 15 minutes.

Questions will be asked to explore the student's interest in medicine, general knowledge about health care, opinions about ethics and humanism, and teamwork, leadership and communication.

  • 4 pillars of medical ethics; healthcare news; style of teaching of that medical school. most importantly: yourself!

Ask yourself this— What are your strengths and weaknesses? What are your preferences? And why would you like to study Medicine?
